This is my first year project at Shenkar College.
We began with a research on existing brands and went through a long process to understand their DNA.
I did my research on Helmut Lang, and my garment is a mix of what I learned from his work and my own aesthetic.
I focused mainly on the utility aspect which Lang makes sure to have in all his collections and designed a garment that takes you anywhere, holds all your necessary belongings and keeps the wearer prepared for any obstacle they may encounter.
Another element in Lang’s designs I wanted to use was the monochromatic look, his ability to take one color and find different ways and textures to use it in the same look inspired me.
I created myself a subtle logo print for HL that I implemented carefully on the blouse and vest.
This is my interpretation to Helmut Lang.
